Liar

The name of the book I am reading is called Liar.   It is written by Justine Larabalestier.  It is called Liar because it is about this girl named Micah that lives and goes to school in New York City, and gets into trouble telling a lot of lies.   So far I think the name of the book seems to fit it, as the story line starts to unfold.   It seems the girl Micah in the story tells a lot of lies maybe to save herself from a lot of mean and snotty people prying into her life, getting to close to her, or maybe because she is having a identity crisis and is protecting herself from the outside world phyically and mentally.  It seems that as I read this book that I might find out that the girl  Micah tells a lot of lies.   She says at the beginning of the book that she is going to stop telling so many lies and start telling the truth more, but I can see that for her it is not going to be a easy task for her to do.   That is already the first lie in the beginning of the story she tells you.  Once you tell a lie it either seems to get bigger or there is just no simple way to take it back or get out of it as soon as one comes out of your mouth.   It seems to me that it is hard for this character in this story to do just that.    Telling lies seems to be quite easy for her to do,but not so easy to get out of once she has told them.   It seems that a few people at school have already pegged her as a big liar in this book.   This book seems that it might be full of lies and trying to figure out what is truth and what is lies is going to be quite a challenge.

  1. You are right about the challenge part. If you a reader that has to have absolute answers, this novel will frustrate you! :)
